NRG SWIMMING’S September 8, 2009 – March 28, 2010 Below are the Age/Skill Groups along with short descriptions and pool locations for that group. |
Silver Group Ages 5-10 | Swimmers ages 5-10 should be able to swim one lap freestyle and have no fear of the water. These 1-hour, 3 times a week practice sessions emphasize refinement of stroke techniques, starts and turns, and introduces the athlete to training progression. Participation in meets is strongly urged, but not required.

Gold Group Ages 9-12 | Swimmers ages 9-12 should be proficient in all four competitive strokes. This 60 to 75 minute, 5 times a week practice sessions pay careful attention to stroke mechanics, starts and turns. An increased training progression will be followed, geared toward each swimmer’s ability. Participation in meets is expected.

Junior Group Ages 11-14 | The Junior Group age 11-14 is a transition group from age group swimming to our senior program and depends on the ability and mental maturity of the swimmer. This group meets 6 times a week for 2 to 2 ½ hours. Selection into this group means a commitment to swimming in preparation for the Senior Group. Participation in selected meets is required.

Senior Group Elite Level | The highest level of NRG Swimming, the Sr. Atomic group trains vigorously in pursuit of qualification for the elite Sectional and Jr. and Sr. Championship meets. A maximum of nine practice sessions per week are offered. Swimmers are expected to keep an 80% attendance rating per month to achieve success in this practice group. Participation in selected meets is required.
